Women Entrepreneurship & Governance

During the last quarter, the GNC sector was deeply involved in documenting the “Rise of Women Entrepreneurs” in all the six districts. The study involved documenting the women, who after our trainings in increasing their capacities on income generating activities and giving a push to their confidence, are achieving to become entrepreneurs. The study is almost complete and will be brought out within the month of February under the name of “NERCORMP-IFAD Women Entrepreneurs”. This study was very important because in the scenario where women had no voices in the decision-making, this project has been able to mainstream them and therefore today stands in testimony of it being given a chance for replication by the state machinery.

Another study which is in the offing and which has a similar purpose and aim is, “NaRMGs: An Alternative to Village Governance”. This study will revolve around gauging the level of confidence of this village level Institution. It will also study the level of transparency, the visionary zeal and the collective spirit. At the end it will try to authenticate the above stated hypothesis.

Our final wealth ranking is almost complete and this time we are hoping to give harsh statistics to show the decrease of families living under BPL and the increase of families risen above!

The various trainings on the capacity building are an ongoing effort in all the six districts. Now we are being more specific and aiming towards training on demand and on the specified issue. The NaRMG Associations and the Federations have been told to prepare their business modules and list the specific training they would require. In other words we are now aiming at cluster specific trainings.

We are also in the process of giving final touches to the Training Manual consisting of six modules. It will be more interactive and visually explanatory.
