With an aim to transform lives of the poor and marginalised tribal families in the north-east, The third phase of the North Eastern Region Community Resource Management Project (NERCORMP) was launched in Arunachal Pradesh, covering three districts of Tirap, Changlang and Longding, and in Manipur covering the districts of Chandel and Churachandpur.

Arunachal Pradesh:
Union Minster for DoNER, Shri Pawan Singh Ghatowar officially launched the programme at Changlang on 6th January 2014, in presence of Chief Minister Shri Nabam Tuki, Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Shri Ninong Ering, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Mukut Mithi and host of ministers, parliamentary secretaries and MLAs. Launching the project for the first time in Arunachal Pradesh, Ghatowar assured that it would immensely benefit the communities' residing in these three districts, including the youth and unemployed.

Manipur :
Union Minister for DoNER, Shri Pawan Singh Ghatowar officially launched the third phase of North Eastern. Community Resource Management Project (NERCORMP-III) for Churachandpur and Chandel districts in a function held at the auditorium of Manipur Film Development Corporation at Konung Mamang Imphal on the 8th of January 2014. Speaking on the occasion Ghatowar said that the project would benefit the rural mass of the two districts in a great way since schemes for electrification, sanitation, road communications and other basic sectors will be taken up under this project for all round development of a society. He also appealed to the people of the state, especially the residents of the two districts to cooperate with the government and NERCORMP to make it a successful venture. Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri O. Ibobi presided over the function, Shri Gaikhangam, Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Phungzathang Tonsing, Health and Family Welfare Minister, Shri Thangso Baite, MP, Shri U. K. Sangma, Secretary, Ministry of DoNER, Shri Ameishing Luikham, Secretary, NEC & Chairman, NERCORMP,Shri PC Lawmkanga, Chief Secretary, Manipur, host of Minsters, MLAs, ADC members and senior officers from the Govt. of Manipur were present in the launching ceremony.

Dr. Vincent Darlong, ICO, IFAD-India was also present at the launching programmes in Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
